Khaty Xiong is the author of Poor Anima (Apogee Press, 2015), which holds the distinction of being the first full-length collection of poetry published by a Hmong American woman in the United States. Her recent honors include a 2020 Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowship and a Vermont Studio Center Fellowship from the Ohio Arts Council. Xiong’s work has been featured in Poetry, the New York Times, How Do I Begin?: A Hmong American Literary Anthology (Heyday, 2011), Academy of American Poets and Poetry Society of America websites, and elsewhere.
