In this classroom, your students can engage with Dodge Poetry's resources in a fun and interactive way; you can send them to the classroom with this link, or visit and explore together. Visitors can click on objects around the room to find hidden poems, check out our Teachers Kit and Video Library, and ponder journal and discussion prompts. Please note that a Dodge Poetry Members log-in is required to view the videos linked in this classroom, so if you want your students to use the classroom on their own, they will need a free membership to view the videos.
We have A LOT of videos in our Video Library from the virtual 2020 Dodge Poetry Festival. We've created playlists of sessions that will be particularly interesting and engaging for students and teachers, linked below. All of the sessions were conducted live with students and teachers around the country watching and asking questions in real-time.
This packet includes class plans designed to invite students into engaging with poetry by following their own curiosity, personal interest and connection. You'll find ready-made class plans that you can implement for individual and group learning, or tailor them to meet your particular students' needs.
In this web forum, you will meet other educators who are bringing poetry into their schools. Swap teaching tips, share poems and poets that are getting students excited about poetry, and connect over your own creative process and learning in a supportive community.
