Charles Simic reads "There's a certain Slant of light," by Emily Dickinson, and his original poem, "Ambiguity's Wedding." Originally aired during the "Voices That Haunt Us" group reading at the 2020 Dodge Poetry Festival, October 31, 2020.
We marked Halloween with a group reading of favorite poems in the spirit of All Souls Day and the Day of the Dead. Festival Poets honored poetic ancestors by giving voice to a poem that has stayed with them, written by a poet no longer with us. Then, they read a poem of their own, written in the spirit of, in response to, or somehow influenced by an important ancestor.
